Xarelto Interaction With Food & Other Drugs
Many drugs may affect the way Xarelto works. Any other anticoagulants or blood thinners will cause a serious complication if used with Xarelto. Also, diabetes medications, anti-depression medications, and prescription NSAIDs will create complications with Xarelto.
Xarelto can also interfere with other drugs you are taking. Even over the counter drugs like ibuprofen, aspirin, and other NSAIDs (anti-inflammatory drugs) will interfere with Xarelto, and may cause serious complications.
It's very important to let your doctor know about everything you take, including illegal or recreational drugs, over-the-counter medications, herbs or herbal preparations, or dietary and nutritional supplements.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice are both known to have interactions with the drug Xeralto. Also, cranberry juice should be avoided. Fish oil is another food that is just now becoming known as a possible food interaction while taking Xaeralto.
